A PENSIONER was treated in hospital for bruises and severe shock after he was attacked by two youths who called at his home.
The pair assaulted the 75-year-old, who lives at Brotton, east Cleveland, at teatime on Thursday before snatching a wallet from his back pocket and running off.
Cleveland Police are linking the attack with a bag snatch at Marske, the same afternoon.
A 92-year-old woman discovered an intruder in her back garden, then discovered that her bag was missing.
The description she gave, corresponds with the appearance of one of the thieves.
The pair are described as white, of average build, with short dark hair.
One was described as about 6ft, while his accomplice is between 5ft and 5ft 5in.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on (01642) 302639.
