The teenagers are part of the Derwentside Detached Youth Project at Stanley Youth Centre, which is part of Durham County Council's Education in the Community service.
As well as completing a challenge expedition in Teesdale, the group was involved in a community sports project and helped a local mountain rescue team while working for the award.
They are Tony Buckley, Jamie Dodds, Micheal Johanson, Aidan Mcgough, Emma Richardson, Victoria McCrory, Hayley Elvin, Daniel Appleby and Laura Dixon.
