A BANNED driver who drove off after police stopped him on a quad bike received a second ban yesterday.
Terrance James, 37, of East Green, West Auckland, admitted obstructing a police constable and driving while disqualified and without insurance at South Durham Magistrates' Court.
Bill Brabbaan, prosecuting, said James was stopped by police in Staindrop Road, West Auckland. He refused to stay and refused to hand his keys over, then drove off on his vehicle.
James, who had been banned from driving for six months on April 28, was later arrested.
He was ordered to carry out 130 hours of community punishment by magistrates, banned from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay £55 costs.
