A TEENAGE tennis player is looking forward to spending a week at Wimbledon.
Mia Robinson, 14, is practising on grass courts in the Durham area before her trip to London.
She won the right to play on some of the outside courts through a national competition staged by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).
As the Durham and Cleveland runner-up in the Road to Wimbledon contest, she will join area champion Mikaela Baker, from Middlesbrough, among the top 64 under-14s players in the country.
They will receive four hours' practice on one of the courts, and have a tour of the Wimbledon complex before playing in a round-robin tournament during the rest of the week.
Accommodation, meals and transport are provided by the LTA, with the chance to impress some of the country's leading coaches during the week.
Mia plays at Durham Johnston School, last year's national schools' finalists, and competes at under-19 and under-15 leveal at Sunderland Health and Racquet Club.
Her father, David, said: "It's a chance not to be missed, to be able to play on the best grass courts in the country at such a setting and to see how she fares against her peers."
