AN annual charity golf day proved to be a success when it raised more than £8,500.
Organised by Hunters Estate Agents, the event at Easingwold Golf Club attracted 36 teams consisting of 152 players.
The money raised will be shared between two local good causes -St Monica's Hospital and the appeal to build a sports hall at Easingwold School.
Hunters, which has branches across Yorkshire, has been involved in other fundraising events in recent months
Last month, the company entered York's Dragon Boat Race with Team Dragon Hunters and raised about £1,200 for York Against Cancer and Martin House Hospice.
A charity ball is also planned at York Racecourse on October 30, which is expected to take the total amount of money raised by the company in the past four years to more than £100,000.
Director Keith Hollinrake said: "This year's golf day was our most successful yet. We are delighted with the amount of money raised and the generous sponsorship that was received from a wide range of national and local companies and organisations."
