A GROUP that runs discos for youngsters has given a charity a financial boost.
MandDET - the Midwifery and Diabetes Educational Trust -which is based in Thirsk, has been given £500 by Nite City Promotions, of Northallerton.
Nite City Promotions runs discos for seven to 14-year-olds every month at Northallerton Forum. The proceeds from the discos are given to charity.
MandDET raises money to educate healthcare professionals about diabetes during pregnancy.
The charity funds healthcare professionals to attend training courses and seminars, and has also funded the production of an educational CD-rom, which has been sold to maternity units throughout the country.
