CHILDREN were captivated by stories of trickery from around the world at a storytelling day yesterday.
The primary school children heard tales from storyteller Konyn Pascal at Hartlepool Art Gallery.
Ms Pascal held the children spellbound with stories from around the world.
She said: "They are traditional stories about tricksters and trickery and keep children happy everywhere in the world."
The children were surrounded by cartoons from the gallery's latest exhibition, which features classic comic strips and is called Bash Street Kids UR 50.
The exhibition in the Church Square art gallery celebrates the work of Beano illustrator Leo Baxendale, who created the Bash Street Kids stories in 1954.
Entry to the exhibition is free and the display runs until Sunday, August 22.
