FOOTBALL fan John Cooper has achieved two goals.
The 18-year-old has come top in a project aimed at improving literacy and numeracy skills and won free seats and VIP treatment at Middlesbrough Football Club's Riverside Stadium.
The club is behind the Football First Goals scheme, aimed at raising educational standards among youngsters in the community.
John was nominated for the Student of the Month award for his hard work, dedication and initiative.
Middlesbrough defender Franck Queudrue yesterday presented him with two tickets for the home match against Crystal Palace on August 28.
Football First Goals was launched in April with 19 students successfully completing the course. All students have been rewarded with tickets to the Community Shield match between Manchester United and Arsenal at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, on Sunday.
Queudrue was more than happy to lend his name to the awards project.
He said "I enjoy getting involved in these community projects that the club runs.
"Middlesbrough are very much a community club. As footballers we have our objectives and the youngsters involved in the football first awards have theirs.
"When they succeed in meeting them then the club is only to happy to show their support."
