A MAN whose car crashed out of control may have suffered a heart attack, police said yesterday.
Bob Dignen, a keen angler, appeared to pull his car momentarily into a bus lay-by, but then it veered across the road, ploughing first into a bollard and then a lamp-post.
No other vehicle was involved in the collision, which happened mid-afternoon, Tuesday, on Ormesy Bank, Middlesbrough.
The 52-year-old, from Hartlepool, was taken to Middlesbrough's James Cook University Hospital, where he died shortly afterwards.
Mr Dignen leaves a son, daughter and parents who are reported to be devastated by the tragedy.
