AN AMATEUR dramatics group is appealing to railway enthusiasts for help to find props for its latest production.

Shildon's Centre Stage is planning a production of E Nesbit's classic The Railway Children to celebrate the opening of the town's multi-million pound railway museum.

The production has been cast and rehearsals are under way but the group does not have any authentic costumes or props.

Donna Timmiss, of Centre Stage, said: "We are appealing to all railway enthusiasts out there who may have any Edwardian costumes or railway memorabilia that they would kindly lend us so that the production looks authentic. We promise to look after it and return it at the end of the production.

"We are really looking forward to putting on the show and are hoping that it will be a great way for people to get into the mood for the opening of the railway museum on September 27.''

The show takes to the stage on September 24 with further productions on September 25 and 26.

Anyone who can help with props or costumes is asked to telephone Derrick Robinson on (01388) 774838.
