WET weather forced children to take their play indoors on a Darlington estate yesterday.
Children on Firthmoor were due to take part in a range of outdoor activities to mark National Play Day.
Instead, the activities went ahead inside Maidendale House community centre, where there was limbo-dancing and face painting and youngsters played pool and table tennis. They also enjoyed a healthy eating game where they hunted for fruit.
Play development co-ordinator Liz Bennett said: "The kids got outside at one point and played a bit of tennis and did a penalty shoot-out but most of the day was indoors. I think they really enjoyed it."
