NEARBY wheat prices had dropped to the normal new crop price, but the weather has reversed this with many end users looking a bit nervous about spot wheat.
Generally, new crop prices have remained unchanged, with very little activity, but there remains downward pressure from a projected record US maize harvest.
Oilseed prices have carried on falling on the back of weaker US soya markets and predicted good oilseed rape harvests around the world. There is still, however, a long time until US soya is in the barn.

Grainfarmers, Thorp Arch. - Wheat (new crop): Aug £74; Sept £75; Oct £76. Barley: Aug £58; Sept £60; Oct £62. Oilseed rape: Aug £124; Sept £129; Oct £131.
