A SEASIDE resort is preparing to host an environment film festival.
A series of environmental-themed films will be projected on to a large outdoor screen at South Bay, in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, on August 28, from 7.30pm to midnight.
The festival is part of Scarborough Borough Council's attempts to raise awareness of environment issues, and aims to attract the public and film-lovers from across the North.
It will include two feature-length films and a number of short films.
The council's environment and sustainable development officer, Daniel O'Connor, said: "As well as being an entertaining evening, this is another event that we hope will encourage people to think about the relationship we have with the environment."
If the weather is bad, alternative arrangements have been made to view the films in the nearby Spa complex.
