A NORTH-EAST stage school pupil has won a place in a show which draws on young talent from across the country.
Sarah Warbey, 16, who attends Stagecoach's Darlington school, has been chosen from 28,000 students to perform in a production of the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta The Pirates of Penzance.
After four months of auditions, she beat off competition to land a part in the musical at the Leatherhead Theatre, in Surrey, from August 12 to 14.
It is the summer showcase produced by Stagecoach, a stage school which has branches throughout the country.
It is the third time Sarah, who attends Hummersknott School, in Darlington, has won a place in the annual production, previously appearing in Jane Eyre and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
Robin Mills, 17, from Richmond, North Yorkshire, also won a place in the play, but had to withdraw because it clashed with filming for Trouble TV.
