X-RAY technology specialist Bede plc has promoted James Polasik to the dual role of chief operating officer and head of sales with immediate effect.
The Durham company said the changes would allow chief executive Dr Neil Loxley to focus on the strategic development of the group and on product and market development activities.
Mr Polasik has been executive sales director for less than a year.
Dr Loxley said: "Since joining the group in November 2003, Jim has driven the company's rapid growth in sales order bookings.
"I look forward to working with him in his new role as we further develop the group's operations in order to meet the demand he has helped to create."
Bede's fortunes are improving after several difficult years.
Its broker, Evolution Beeson Gregory, predicted last week that the company would be operating in the black by the end of next year - 12 months ahead of expectations
