A SONGWRITER could be hitting the charts after one of his works was chosen for inclusion on a compilation compact disc.
David Moralee, 22, from Crook, is delighted after his song Fly Away was chosen for the Dance Land CD.
Record store HMV has already placed a large order for the CD and Mr Moralee is hoping his track will go on to be released as a single.
The song, which Mr Moralee describes as "commercial trance" was written two years ago and was selected for the CD after he sent it to members of dance act QFX.
Mr Moralee said: "I always said to myself I'd have a record out before the age of 26.
"This is like a dream come true for me. I'm really excited about it, but grounded at the same time. I don't think it'll really sink in until I see it on the shelves of HMV."
Mr Moralee works for drugs charity Disc and runs music workshops for youth groups.
Dance Land will be available in the shops from Monday
