TRADERS in Darlington are being invited to take part in a loyalty card scheme by the management team at Lingfield Point, a 107-acre business park in the town.
About 2,000 people are employed by more than 40 enterprises at the business park, in McMullen Road, and could benefit from the scheme.
Louise Payne, Darlington town centre manager, has written to businesses in the town asking if they would like to participate in the scheme.
She suggests that in addition to shops, some cultural, heritage, leisure and amenity businesses could be included in the scheme.
Suggested incentives include free cups of coffee when meals are purchased, discount on presentation of the card, special offers for cardholders on Sundays, or two for the price of one on entrance fees.
If support is sufficient, the scheme could begin operating by mid-October.
