A DURHAM charity is looking for drivers to take blind and partially-sighted people to hospital appointments.
The North Road-based County Durham Society for the Blind and Partially Sighted runs the transport service and needs volunteers to take patients between their homes and eye clinics.
Volunteer co-ordinator Sandra Hillyard said: "The driver service is essential to its users. It ensures that they are able to attend important eye clinic appointments and makes experience far less stressful.
"Just knowing that there is someone there to provide support, and that there won't be any problems getting to and from their appointment, really helps."
The society will refund out-of-pocket expenses and will give full training.
Anyone interested can get further details by calling Ms Hillyard on 0191-386 8175.
