A FOOD bug outbreak is showing no sign of slowing down, two weeks after it began.
Last night, confirmed cases of the salmonella infection stood at 76, with a further 13 suspected cases. Three people are being treated in hospital.
Most of the cases are in the district of Derwentside, County Durham. So far, the only possible link for the outbreak uncovered is Robson's Fresh Foods, in Front Street, Stanley.
The Health Protection Agency's outbreak control team said it still expected further cases to come to light.
Robson's Fresh Foods, well-known for its pies and cooked meats, was closed on Thursday, July 29, and remains shut.
Anyone who develops severe diarrhoea or fears they have contracted salmonella can visit their GP or call NHS Direct on 0845 4647.
