FERRYHILL Town Council has taken measures to stop vandals damaging public lavatories.
A number of incidents of vandalism have taken place at the Ferryhill Station lavatories, which have recently been refurbished, including smashing the windows and the basins, and scrawling graffiti inside and outside the building.
Local youngsters, are believed to be responsible for the damage.
A council spokesman said: "Ferryhill Town Council takes acts of vandalism very seriously as it costs every resident in Ferryhill money to repair the vandalism."
