A LEADING manager in the North Teesside NHS has retired. Richard Nicholson, 64, was chairman of the North Tees Teaching Primary Care Trust for three and a half years.
He had previously been a director of the North Tees Health Authority and the North Tees NHS Trust.
Before that, he was headteacher at Grangefield Secondary School, in Stockton.
He said: "I would like to do other things, including developing some of my own hobbies and interests."
Christine Willis, North Tees Teaching PCT chief executive, said: "Obviously, we will miss Richard, but would like to take this opportunity to thank him for all the work he has done for the organisation."
The NHS Appointments Commission will advertise for a chairman.
In the interim, Graham Prest, who is vice-chairman of the board, will become acting chairman.
Mr Prest has served on the Board of North Tees PCT for the past three and a half years as a non-executive director and was previously a non-executive director of Tees Health Authority.
He is a local Baptist church minister from Norton, near Stockton and is married with three daughters.
