MONSTER trucks wowed a crowd of more than 30,000 at the region's biggest motor show at the weekend.
The North-East Motor Show, the largest motor exhibition and family fun day in the area, took place on Saturday and Sunday at Herrington Country Park, near Chester-le-Street.
The giant Big Foot and The Hulk machines gave an awesome display of their power, crushing cars under their tyres and pulling stunts.
Further daredevil antics came from the Over the Top Stunt Display Team, which performed in the recent Tooth Fairy film, and world-famous stunt driver Russ Swift.
Drivers who wanted a taste of extreme motoring were given the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a 4x4 vehicle on an off-road course.
Visitors could also get up close to the Thunderbird FAB 1 car used in the new film, and youngsters were offered the chance to dress up as characters from the Thunderbirds movie.
Motor dealers attending the show included Mill, Mercedes-Benz of Sunderland, Jennings, Reg Vardy, Springfield, Rycroft, Bridge Street Mitsubishi, Alexandra Bridge Seat, Alexander Saab, Philip Wilks, Seaham Hyundai and American Pickup Trucks.
The event was sponsored by the University of Sunderland, Sunderland Echo, Century Radio and City of Sunderland Council.
