A TEENAGER has been given a sponsorship deal that will keep her driving ambitions on track.
Lyndsey Knott, from Stockton, has been given a £250 sponsorship package by Connexions Tees Valley, which will help her to showcase her talents around the country's top grass track racing circuits.
The 14-year-old caught the racing bug just over two years ago and has been racing her 1000cc Mini ever since.
She said: "It is brilliant that Connexions have helped me out. Racing cars is expensive so the money will help."
The sponsorship money will help Lyndsey travel to more meetings, including going to the Junior National Championships in December.
Stuart Dearlove, director of partnership development and inclusion at Connexions Tees Valley, said; "We are delighted to be sponsoring Lyndsey.
"She is really committed and talented at what she does. She is also a fantastic example for other young people and particularly young ladies.
"She is showing gender is no barrier in her chosen sport and others should be encouraged to follow that example."
At race meetings, Lyndsey competes with up to nine other junior drivers whose ages range between 12 and 16.
