A PUB which was accused of repeatedly flouting licensing laws has been closed down.
The Oaks pub, in the Silksworth area of Sunderland, had been under police scrutiny after complaints over the running of the premises, which operated under a temporary licence.
On one occasion, police were called to deal with escalating disorder that broke out at a children's disco, resulting in the temporary closure of the pub.
Police objections to the transfer of the licence to the proposed licensee have now been upheld by magistrates.
