ORGANISERS of this year's Wensleydale Show say the event will be bigger and better than ever.
The show will be held in Bellerby Road, Leyburn, on Saturday, August 28.
Traditional favourites such as the horticulture and livestock competitions will take place alongside new attractions, such as giant model car racing and a quoits competition.
Events in the main ring include the Lampkin motor cycle display team, Bedale Hounds, heavy horses, a pet lamb competition and a display of vintage vehicles.
North Yorkshire Police will be holding a fingerprint and DNA workshop, and will be using actors to show how they deal with anti-social behaviour
For the first time, visitors will be able to get to the show via the Wensleydale Railway from Leeming Bar, Bedale and Redmire. Five trains will run each way during the day.
The gates open at 9am. Admission costs £5 for adults, or £2.50 for under-16s and concessions. On-site car parking is free. In the evening there will be live music and a disco from 8pm to 1am in the marquee. Admission costs £5.
