A TEENAGER was locked up yesterday after breaching an anti-social behaviour order by harassing his mother.
Newton Aycliffe Youth Court heard that the 17-year-old went to his mother's house in the town at 4.40am on July 30.
Bill Brabban told magistrates that the youth, who now lives with friends, banged on the door three times and asked to be let in.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, then asked his estranged mother for some cigarettes and a coat.
Claire Welpdale, in mitigation, said her client was staying with his sister at the time of the incident, but had tried to reconcile his differences with his mother.
She said he wanted to stay with her that night instead of going back to his sister's house and disturbing her baby.
He admitted breaching the court order, which was made in July last year, and prohibits him from insulting, abusing of harassing any person.
Magistrates heard that the youth had already breached the order on three previous occasions.
He was sentenced to a 12- month detention and training order.
