A CHILDCARE course for fathers proved such a success that another is to be held.
Sure Start Ferryhill and Chilton linked with Bishop Auckland College to offer the course.
The module teaches fathers basic child care skills and offers the first step in a professional qualification in the subject.
Heather Harkin, fathers support worker for Sure Start, said many men practised child care in the home, so they might as well gain a qualification.
She said: "We have just completed the first module in child care and four dads have finished that. It's the only course the college runs which is just for men."
The course, which is run at the Sure Start centre in Ferryhill, will be starting again next month.
For more details of the course, telephone Mrs Harkin at the Sure Start centre on (01740) 658080.
