A SURGEON at Sunderland's Royal Infirmary had to seek the assistance of the fire brigade to help remove a metal nut from a man's private parts.
It is understood the steel ring had been in place for some two weeks when the 30-year-old man sought medical help.
At first, a dentist's drill was used to help cut through the nut but eventually doctor's turned to a high-powered angle grinder, borrowed from the fire brigade, to carry out the delicate operation,
