THE family of a North-East soldier found dead in suspicious circumstances yesterday joined other bereaved relatives in a new campaign for answers.
Diane Gray, of Seaham, County Durham, staged a Press conference with four mothers and fathers to condemn the Ministry of Defence.
The parents drew up a list of questions to be sent to the Defence Secretary, Geoff Hoon.
Lembit Opik, an MP supporting the campaign, said Mr Hoon should consider resigning if he failed to answer the questions.
Private Geoff Gray was among four recruits who died from gunshot wounds at Deepcut barracks, in Surrey, between 1995 and 2002.
The Government has ruled out a public inquiry despite scepticism about the official verdict that they committed suicide.
Yesterday, Mrs Gray said: "The Army investigates the Army and the police investigates the police, and we just go around in circles. We need a public inquiry."
