A Darlington woman is calling on the borough council to tidy up a forgotten part of the town.
Phyllis Eastwood has lived in Feethams for more than 50 years, but has become fed up of a neglected patch of land.
The buildings on the site of Robinson's auctioneers, opposite the bus station, were demolished in 2000, after a fire.
Mrs Eastwood is concerned the area is used as a dumping ground.
" I have asked the council to do something about it and in the past they have cleared it. But that was a while ago and it's just as bad again now."
A council spokesman said: "This is private land and it is the landowner's responsibility to keep it tidy. Darlington Borough Council has contacted the landowner who has given the council permission to clean it up. This is likely to be done next week and the landowner will pay."
