A LONDON recording star with an international reputation has been secured to play at a North-East venue.
Pianist Jill Crossland will perform at the 17th Century Chapel at Sir William Turner's Almshouses, at Kirk-leatham, near Redcar, on Friday, September 17, at 7.30pm.
She has made many broadcasts including on television and on Radio 3 and 4. In January, she recorded the piano soundtrack for ITV's New Year's Day film, Pollyanna.
Concert organiser Peter Sotheran said: "When we first presented concerts five years ago, we were described as east Cleveland's best-kept secret.
"Now some people have called us the Wigmore Hall of the North-East.
"We have had many very accomplished musicians at Kirkleatham, but to be able to feature Jill Crossland is a real coup for the North-East."
Tickets are £10, available on (01287) 632225.
