EXPANSION work at a golf club has taken place after a bank provided a £700,000 loan.
Teesside Golf Club, in Acklam Road, Thornaby, has renovated the clubhouse, increasing the size of the function room and improving the locker facilities.
The work has been carried out after the Yorkshire Bank provided a business loan.
Mick Fleming, club secretary, said: "The clubhouse extension had been on the cards for nearly two years."
Opened in 1901, the 18-hole course has 700 members.
Its proximity to the former Globe Theatre, in Stockton, has attracted many celebrities over the years.
Players have included comic duo Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise, Sir Harry Secombe, Guy Mitchell and Roy Castle.
