A COUNSELLING service which helps people with alcohol and drug problems is looking for board members.
The Albert Centre, in Middlesbrough, which was launched 25 years ago, is hoping that candidates from the business and voluntary sectors come forward.
Anne Christie, the chairwoman, said: "The centre undertakes vital work in the community, providing help and support to men and women who want to change the direction of their lives.
"Those who sit on our management executive are in a position to shape policies in order to help people that want to be helped."
The centre works with GPs and NHS trusts and runs drink-driving rehabilitation courses in the Cleveland, Durham and North Yorkshire police areas.
Ms Christie said: "We are in the process of expansion and looking at a whole new raft of projects to tackle the widespread problem of addiction.
"We are looking to put together a balanced team, including members with fundraising experience. All will have the opportunity of making a very worthwhile contribution to the future of the centre and the whole community."
Monthly meetings are held in the evening and Miss Christie said she hoped to recruit members not just from healthcare but management and business.
Anyone interested should contact the centre on (01642) 221484.
