YOUNGSTERS in Redcar and Cleveland have been praised for their English and maths exam results.
Provisional figures for 11-year-olds show improved key stage two results.
Fourteen-year-olds maintained the trend with key stage three improvements.
Councillor Steve Kay, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council cabinet member for education, said: "The hard work of pupils, teachers and parents continues to pay dividends and deserves praise.
"Schools and pupils can take pride in increased achievement and I know they will look for yet more improvement next year."
