Robin Hood's Bay is to get £1,000 from the county council to fund a wireless Internet facility to improve neighbourhood security.
It will also provide free networking and communication for businesses and indiviudals in Broadband Co-operative Limited.
Hunmanby Parish Council is to receive £2,000 towards repairs to its community centre.
Other grants, each of £1,000, are to be given to Westerdale Village Hall, Whitby Rugby Union FC youth section to buy equipment, and Community Arts Now.
Grants of £500 are being awarded to Seamer Parish Council, Scarborough Civic Society, Cayton Village Gala, Eskdale Festival of Arts and Scarborough Photographic Society.
