Hartlepool is to host two events as part of a storytelling festival being held at venues across the Tees Valley.
Organised by the Tees Forest, the festival aims to celebrate the ancient link between storytelling and the natural world.
The week-long festival is a partnership between Hartlepool, Redcar and Cleveland, Middlesbrough, Stockton and Darlington councils and Tees Valley Wildlife Trust.
Hartlepool's free events are planned for two of the town's Local Nature Reserves, Summerhill and the Hart-to-Haswell Walkway.
The visitors' centre at Summerhill, off Catcote Road, will host That's a Tall Story on Wednesday, between 1pm and 4pm.
As well as lots of stories, there will be a range of other entertainment for the whole family, including Punch and Judy and magic shows, balloon modelling and drumming workshops.
Further information is available by calling (01429) 284584.
An event at the Hart-to-Haswell Walkway, called All Aboard the Time Train, will take place on Friday between 2pm and 4pm.
Storyteller Kevin Walker will weaves tales of past and present as visitors journey along the walkway.
Because places are limited, advance booking is essential by calling (01429) 853325.
