A MAN was jailed for life yesterday for the murder of his girlfriend's baby son.
Kevin Raw, 40, of Elm View, Pickering, North Yorkshire, was convicted of murdering 13-month-old Kieron Brown at Leeds Crown Court and sentenced to life in prison.
Kieron was the son of Deborah Brown. He was found collapsed at their home in Malton, North Yorkshire, in December, 2000. He was taken to hospital, but died.
Earlier, the jury heard a pathologist describe how Kieron had suffered a violent impact, possibly two punches or a stamp with a foot, which caused fractured ribs, a lacerated pancreas and liver, and torn blood vessels.
After his death, older injuries were also found, including a broken arm and leg.
Raw was charged with murder in June last year. Yesterday, he was also convicted of a number of charges of assault causing grievous bodily harm against Kieron.
