AN animal management lecturer is to embark on a round-the-world trip that will see her studying in New Zealand, Nepal, Ecuador and the Galapagos.
Anna Evely will also visit Thailand and China as part of her research for a masters degree in biodiversity and conservation.
She is a former student of Huntington School, in York, and went on to nearby Askham Bryan College, where she achieved her Higher National Diploma in animal management.
She then achieved a first class honours degree in the subject, before taking on a post as lecturer at the college.
Her research will see her studying dolphins and penguins in New Zealand, tigers in Thailand, elephants in Nepal, and giant pandas in China.
She will also work on a conservation project in Ecuador and the Galapagos, sending back regular progress reports and photos to the college.
