Darlington town centre teemed with visitors on Saturday as the town's annual three-day festival drew to a close.
The Natural Theatre Company paid its first visit and entertained shoppers and festival-goes as part of Street Theatre Day.
Performers returning by popular demand included Heir of Insanity, with a trapeze show and stunning inflatable set.
Fresh from Darlington by the Sea were the Fairly Famous Family, plus new acts Dot Comedy, Stickleback Plasticus and Bread and Butter Theatre.
Jeff Dawson, Darlington Borough Council's events manager, said: "This year we have moved the festival forward in the events calendar.
"We noticed a major clash with the Olympic Games and we are sure the change to the dates allowed more people to enjoy the impressive line-up we had."
It meant there was a day of street theatre following two days of music in the town centre.
The festival started on Thursday, with music from The Atlantic Soul Messenger and a tribute to rock legends by the Imposters.
They played tracks by Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Freddie Mercury and Mark Knopfler.
The History of Motown Show was held on Friday and celebrated some of the best songs from the Sixties and Seventies.
