YOUNG people have been invited to a fire brigade open day.
Cleveland Fire Brigade will explain to those aged between 13 and 16 what life is like as a firefighter and encourage them to join the Young Firefighters Association (YFA).
Gordon Young, team leader at the YFA, said: "Young firefighters wear uniform, take part in drills and learn a lot about life in the fire service.
"Firefighting is essentially a disciplined service, it has to be because of the nature of much of the work we do, but the young firefighters also have a lot of fun.
"We have two sessions, which run from 6.30pm to 9pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and boys and girls who think they might be interested in joining are welcome to come along to one of two open days at the YFA buildings at Redcar fire station on Friday, August 27, or Tuesday, August 31, between 10am and 6pm."
