A STREET party is to be held on a Darlington estate to celebrate traffic-calming measures.
Firthmoor resident Bill Cook will open the scheme during a street party to celebrate the Home Zone, which is the first of its kind in the town.
Home Zones create a safe environment for residents by redesigning the street so it is impossible to drive at speed.
Pateley Moor Home Zone was designed by WSP consultants after working with local residents.
Darlington Borough Council secured money from the Department of Transport's Home Zone Challenge Fund, the European Regional Development Fund to pay for the £396,000 scheme.
