DRAFT planning guidelines for the proposed redevelopment of part of Hartlepool have been published.
Hartlepool Borough Council has drawn up the guidance for housing in the Mildred, Mayfair and Carr Street areas, which were identified for demolition in the New Deal for Communities (NDC) initiative in West Central Hartlepool.
Working with local residents NDC has drawn up plans to redevelop some existing housing.
Because the council is the planning authority, it has to set out proposed planning guidelines, known as Supplementary Planning Guidance.
The guidance identifies properties to be demolished, suggests new uses for cleared sites, and lays down design guidelines for any subsequent redevelopment.
Copies of the guidance can be viewed at numerous locations in Hartlepool until Friday, September 20, during normal office hours.
They include; Bryan Hanson House in Lynn Street, the Civic Centre, The New Deal for Communities Office in Park Road, Hartlepool Revival, in Park Road, and Hartlepool Central Library.
Leaflets giving a summary of the guidance will also be available.
Comments should be sent in writing to The Urban Policy Manager, Hartlepool Borough Council, Bryan Hanson House, Hartlepool, TS24 7BT before September 20.
