A CARTOON featuring God and the Devil as company directors battling it out for corporate success has attracted interest from Channel 4 television.

The Ministry was devised by My Team Animation, of Newcastle, which said it has had thousands of hits since launching a website dedicated to the cartoon only five weeks ago.

Next month, My Team will showcase The Ministry at a Cartoon Forum event in Spain in a bid to secure funding to turn it into an animated series.

The Ministry follows the exploits of God T. Almighty at the Ministry, which manages the Universe, battling it out with rival Lucifer and his corporation H.E.L.L for control of the welfare and administration of the universe.

Fay Riddell, marketing manager for My Team, said: "Early indications are that The Ministry has real resonance and appeal for its target audience judging by the amount of website hits we have received on the back of only a limited amount of targeted marketing.

"We already have international broadcasters interested and are convinced that the series can be a world-wide hit with multiple branding and merchandise possibilities.

"We hope that Cartoon Forum will be an opportunity to secure funding and foster co-production for The Ministry. We are very excited."
