MODELS who have overcome, or who are in the throes of fighting cancer, will parade new fashion lines at a charity night next month.
The fashion show is the first of two events staged in support of St Cuthbert's Hospice, in Durham, which provides respite care for patients suffering life-threatening illnesses.
Ushaw Moor Catholic Club stages the show, on Wednesday, September 15, from 7.30pm.
Organiser Lil Sowerby, who has suffered personal family tragedy with cancer, is recruiting people to model various new clothing ranges, all of whom have suffered from the disease.
"I've had no shortage of people who were willing to help out and it is not just those who have successfully fought it.
"We have some models who are undergoing cancer therapy who have agreed to take part on the night."
The second event will be a cabaret night, on Thursday, September 30, featuring club acts supplied free by a North-East agent.
Both events start at 7.30pm, with tickets costing £1 for the fashion night, available from Ms Sowerby on 0191-373 0285, or the club, which is next to St Joseph's Church, in Durham Road.
