A MAN is due to appear in court today in connection with the death of a man who died nearly a fortnight after he was found with head injuries in a street.
A 24-year-old from Stockton, who was arrested on Friday, will appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court this morning charged with the manslaughter of Mark Burns.
A 25-year-old man also arrested has been released.
Mr Burns, a married father who lived in Norton, near Stockton, died on Saturday morning in the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough. He had been found unconscious in Stockton High Street in the early hours of Monday, August 23, having suffered head injuries.
Police described Mr Burns as a devoted husband and father who was well-known and liked.
Police are appealing for people saw a disturbance involving a large number of men in Stockton High Street at about 1am on August 23, to call (01642) 302306.
