Sir Mark Prescott's Incroyable is an interesting runner on her handicap debut and reappearance run and is fancied to give a good account in the Bet365 Call 08000 322 365 Handicap over a mile and a quarter at Newcastle today.
Although the three-year-old didn't show much in maidens last year he's from a stable that traditionally does well in this type of event with unexposed horses.
And, as a half-sister to Lancashire Oaks winner Ela Athena, it's a fair bet that she's going to improve a fair bit for the step up to this trip at this galloping course.
Lack of a recent run isn't a worry from this stable and the fact that Jamie Mackay rides when Seb Sanders is at the meeting is due to the light weight that the filly has to carry.
Sanders and Prescott can be on the mark with Trilemma, who looks the one to beat in the Stephen Easten Handicap over two miles.
When upped to this trip at Ripon last time the daughter of Slip Anchor turned in an improved effort to beat Oops at Ripon last week and she too is open to plenty of improvement. The filly has a penalty to carry for that run but given the way she travelled for most of the way and her response to pressure and she's taken to beat a field comprising mainly exposed types.
Sanders also has prospects of a winner with the potentially well-handicapped A Teen, who has claims in a maximum field for the St James Security Handicap.
Although Paul Howling's stable has been quiet the six-year-old is back on a decent mark and shaped a bit better than the bare result at Sandown on his penultimate start and at Chepstow last week.
He didn't get the best of runs at the latter course but, with the field likely to split into two groups this time he should have no problems getting a clear passage.
Saeed bin Suroor and the Godolphin operation have been in sparkling form this year and their Potent Heir looks interesting in the European Breeders Fund Maiden over six furlongs.
This expensive purchase certainly looks the part on breeding and, as the best form of those that have raced to date looks decidedly ordinary, he won't have to be anything special to play a leading role on this racecourse debut.
