Preparations are well under way for the ceremony that will see Teesside Airport change its name after 40 years.
Durham Tees Valley International Airport comes into existence on Tuesday, September 21, with a major launch event.
Organisers have invited 100 special guests from throughout the North-East and North Yorkshire to celebrate the switch. They will be given a flight over the Tees Valley area to mark the milestone.
An airport spokesman said excitement was building as the launch date drew closer, with invitations being sent out to business and civic leaders.
Officials chose the Durham Tees Valley name because they felt a major city destination was crucial in the rebranding of the airport.
