TWO world-renowned classical musicians will perform a gala concert at a museum this month.
Duo Medici will perform at Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, County Durham, on Saturday, September 18, at 7.30pm.
The duo are flautist Karin Leitner and harpist Duccio Lombardo.
The pair played at the museum last year and hope to repeat their success.
Ms Leitner works regularly with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna State Opera Stage Orchestra.
She has undertaken solo concerts with, among others, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Vienna Mozart Orchestra and the Austrian Ladies' Orchestra.
Italian-born Mr Lombardo has collaborated with several international orchestras and theatres, including La Scala Opera and Santa Cecilia Orchestra.
He has given solo concerts with the Orchestre Filharmonique de Besancon, in France, and performed several times with the Vienna Mozart Orchestra.
Jeff Lynn, of the museum, said: "We are delighted to welcome Karin and Duccio back to the Bowes Museum following their memorable concert here last year."
The concert includes pieces by Puccini, Mozart and Saint-Saens. It is a formal dress event and includes sparkling wine and canapes.
Tickets are £12, and £10 for museum friends, available on (01833) 690606, ext 233.
Admission is free for under 16s, although they must be accompanied by an adult.
