A MOTHER was so shocked when she saw a van logo of two semi-naked women that she rang police.
The emergency services were stunned to receive the call from the woman, who said she was incensed by the logo she saw on the side of the vehicle in Darlington.
She told police she was walking with two young children when she caught sight of the "obscene" picture of the cavorting, scantily-clad pair.
Officers were alerted at about 1.15pm on Tuesday, but told the woman they were not the proper authority to contact.
Sergeant Graham Charman, of Darlington police, said yesterday: "The complainant was slightly distressed as, while out with two small children, she saw this logo of two women wearing only thongs and cupping each other's breasts.
"She was informed that there had been no other complaints and was suitably advised about where to proceed with this. Whether it was an affront to public decency I don't know."
The red Citroen van with the offending logo is understood to belong to a car parts firm in the town.
Police said they were not taking any further action in relation to the matter.
