YOUNG people have used graffiti art to redecorate a vandalised youth shelter.
The team from Cockfield, worked with graffiti artist Paul Richards after vandals damaged their youth shelter.
The youth shelter was built in 1999 but recently had to have metal sheets welded to it after the vandalism.
The project was organised by Groundwork West Durham. Mr Richards and the team then decorated the sheets.
Environmental Youth Worker Leanne Holbrough, from Groundwork, said: "The shelter used to be made out of a mesh cage, but someone went at it with an axe and we had to block it all in.
"The kids really enjoyed working with the artists and helped come up with the designs. One of the boys designed an alien which was actually used on the shelter."
